Alex Koziol (Director)
Alex Koziol is a double major, Cinematic Arts and BusinessAdministration, from La Verne, CA. He has always had a passion for acting andfilm. Growing up he was trained in acting from the brilliant director/writer,Dan Neidemeyer. He also developed his love and desire for directing throughDan. Over the past 5 years as acting became a huge part of his life, he workedwith multiple teachers and directors to develop a hybrid technique of acting. This technique is a combination of Stanislavski's system and Strasberg's methodacting. Alex always said that if he never did film, he would have become aprofessional hockey player in the NHL. He loves sports and especially hockey, which he grew up playing for 8 years. His friends, family, and wonderfulgirlfriend are his constant source of support and love. He desires to somedaywork in both the video game and film industries. The calling of ministry in hislife is to use that influence to simultaneously work with our own, and foreigngovernments to prevent and also rescue victims of human trafficking. Alex'sgrandfather, Jacob Koziol, was a missionary in Russia and to the Slavic peoplearound the world for over 30 years. His legacy of service and commitment to theLord and his calling on our lives is the driving force within Alex for all hiswork and future ministry. Eph 6:13
Alex Ring (Producer)
Alex brings a lot of enthusiasm to The Portrait crew. This is the first major production he has produced. He has had experience behind the camera as well as on, but looks forward to putting together an amazing film. When he is not on set Alex is a center fielder on the Azusa Pacific baseball team which takes up all of his remaining time. Alex has two other short films to his name: Supplementary Income and The Interrogator, which he directed and directed photography respectively. When not working on production or on the baseball field Alex enjoys watching movies, cooking, and sleeping. Alex says his role models are his parents, Dave and Julie. He also has two younger sisters Kelly and Kaci.
Ty Tuin (Director of Photography)
Ty Tuin has been a close student of the art of cinema for many years. Even as a kid growing up on the edge of civilization west of Chicago he was creating different worlds, writing stories, and making movies.Though he began in a background of acting, cinematography has since become a deep passion. "The Portrait" is an exciting opportunity to create a world that noon has yet seen and he approaches this project with anticipation and great joy. Cinema, like life, is a collaborative art form. Ty would like to congratulate his fellow crewmembers in their hard work and creative pursuits as well as thank those who have challenged and supported him in learning and growing thus far.
Erik Mahoney (Sound)
Erik Mahoney is a junior cinematic arts major at Azusa Pacific university. He is interested in the invisible world of audio and is studying how to best use it to add something special to a story. In the future he plans to continue his studies in graduate school and would one day love to be an audio engineer and/or sound designer.
Anna Mullins (Editor)
A junior Cinematic Arts student at Azusa Pacific University,Anna Mullins has been involved in nearly a dozen student films. While she also dabbles in cinematography and sound editing/design, her main passion is film editing; she enjoys sitting in front of a computer monitor for hours, days, or weeks upon end piecing together the collaborative efforts of so many others to create a beautiful, solid end project. In addition, she loves to design and create graphic artwork for student film posters and DVDs and helping out in any other way that she can. Along with a career in film, Anna plans to stay involved in graphic design, music, and theatre—her other three passions—throughout the course of her life. She gives thanks to God for all the abilities and gifts that he continually blesses her with.
Britainne Pedersen (Producer)
Britainne Pedersen is in her junior year at Azusa Pacific University. She was raised in Redding, California, by loving parents and three crazy siblings. Her favorite things to do are to make people laugh, visit Disneyland, and spend Monday evenings with her grandmother. She is excited to be a producer for "The Portrait" because it gives her a great opportunity to learn how to make a film and be involved in most every aspect of a production. She feels so incredibly blessed to be with wonderful friends and to attend at a great school where the focus is on "God First". None of this would be possible without Jesus Christ, her funny and supportive family, and friends. "This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 (NIV)
Tyler Shaw (Assistant Director)
One of the first things Tyler did his freshman year of college was to sign on as PA for one of the advanced student projects. Ever since then he has worked as a crewmember on multiple advanced projects every seme
ster. He is very excited to finally be in the advanced production class and to get to be a part of bringing "The Portrait" to life. In addition to his work on advanced projects he has also written and directed many of his own films and is an officer of the Azusa Film Society. He is looking forward to working on set with this great crew to bring this script to the screen.
Megan Prescott (Production Designer)
Megan considers herself a native of both coasts having been born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, and moving to the San Francisco Bay area at age14. After receiving a video camera on her 13th birthday, she has been behind the scenes ever since. She is a senior at Azusa Pacific University where she will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinematic Arts. In collegeshe has tried many different roles on set and has found a deep passion forproduction design, helping to mold the visual environment on screen throughsets, props, costumes, and more. In addition to production design, she is beginning to explore documentary filmmaking as it brings awareness amongst thebustle of Hollywood. She looks forward to using her skills to help craft this exciting and challenging story. Megan would like to give special thanks to her brother, Aaron, who has always been a source of support, friendship, and inspiration as an artist, and most of all her parents, Glenn and Janet, who never thought any dream was too crazy!
